Mr. Gene Ruth
Mr. Ernest Eugene "Gene" Ruth, age 82, of De Queen, passed from this life Friday, April 15, 2022, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Gene was born September 9, 1939, at the De Queen Medical Center in De Queen, Arkansas, to Ernest and Rosia Mae Blackburn Ruth of De Queen. He was united in marriage to Wanda Addaline Taylor, on April 17, 1959, in Idabel, Oklahoma. Gene was a truck driver, retiring from Pilgrim's Pride and DC Trucking, after many years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was De Queen Legionnaire, and a member of Buckeye Hill Hunting Club. His time was best spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Melissia Wommack; three brothers, Donald Ruth, David Ruth, and Leonard Ruth; two sisters, Mary Louise Ruth, and Ruby Ellen Ruth.
Gene is survived by the love of his life, whom he shared sixty-three loving years, Wanda Ruth of De Queen; two sons, Douglas (Shirley) Ruth, and Bobby Joe Ruth all of De Queen; one son-in-law, Trey Wommack of De Queen; eight grandchildren, Michael (Bianca) Ruth of Santa Anna, Texas, Dustin (Ashley) Ruth of Gillham, James (Haylee) Ruth of De Queen, Matthew (KayLynn) Ruth of New Hope, Kendall (Candice) Wommack of Greenville, Texas, Keshia Wommack of Ashdown, Kimberly (Jacob White) Ruth of De Queen, and Dakota Joe Ruth of De Queen; eight great-grandchildren, Kaydee, Isaac, Sawyer, Brayden, Kayden, Weston, Blaine, and Shawnix; an adopted son, Scott Raines of Hatfield; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mr. Gene Ruth will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Chapel Hill Cemetery in De Queen. Interment will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
