Mr. Garnet Audra Cearley, Jr., age 78, affectionately known as G. A. to family and friends, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his home.
He was born to Garnet Audra, Sr. and Perrylene Simer Cearley in De Queen, Arkansas on July 10, 1946. He was a 1964 graduate of De Queen High School and went on to get his pilot license where early in his career he flew for the Arkansas State Forestry Division and taught flying lessons at the Sevier County Airport. G. A. served faithfully with the U. S. Navy. He married Lola Faye Smith in Crossroads, Arkansas on January 21, 1972. He was a live haul driver for Pilgrim's. G. A. was a faithful member of the Vandervoort First Baptist Church. He loved the Lord with all his heart and enjoyed reading his Bible. Also he enjoyed working in his yard, nature, camping, hiking, working on cars, flying and especially his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Gwen Lowery,
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Lola Cearley of Vandervoort, Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Bo Dixon of Texarkana; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Dannie Zarins of Owen, Wisconsin, Mandy and Joey Moore of Saginaw, Texas, Cary and Lance Wise of Foreman, Arkansas, and Jessica and Dustin Merchant of Horatio, Arkansas. He was a much-loved Papa to his ten grandchildren: Keith, Brittany, Quenten, Noah, Nikki, Josh, Rebecca, Cameron, Josie, and Joby; and four great-grandchildren: Zoey, Eli, Arya, and Carson.
Funeral Services for Mr. G. A. Cearley, Jr. will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 28, 2025, in the Vandervoort First Baptist Church, Vandervoort, Arkansas, with Bro. Aaron Anglin officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Campground Cemetery, Winthrop, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
