Mrs. Freda Adair
Mrs. Freda Jo Parks Adair, age 90, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed from this life on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in El Dorado, Arkansas.
She was born to Benjamin Harrison and Georgia Blanch Blakemore Parks on February 24, 1930 in Mineral, Arkansas. Freda was a 1947 graduate of Gillham High School and worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She married the love of her life, Althon Heuel Adair, Sr., on March 9, 1949 in De Queen. Freda enjoyed reading and writing poetry, having some of her work published. She was a member of First Baptist Church in De Queen and enjoyed her time at church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, yardwork, sewing and traveling, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Althon Adair, Sr.; one daughter, Alana Faye Whisenhunt; two grandchildren, Gabriel Keith Adair and Carey Lee Elrod; one brother, D.V. Parks; and three sisters, Nita Faye Whisenhunt, Tula Mae Higgins and Pauline "Nep" Argenbright.
Freda leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Althon Heuel Adair, Jr. of El Dorado, Arkansas; two daughters, Pamela Kay Elrod and husband Richard of Hallsville, Texas, and Lisa Ann Wray of Lockesburg; eight grandchildren, Cassie, Clint, Kristy, Miranda, Bryan, Amy, Brittney and Corey; a number of great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Delter Parks of Wickes; one sister, Murl Higgins of Gillham; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Freda Adair will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 23, 2020 at Mineral Cemetery, Gillham. Burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
The use of a face mask or covering will be required during your time at the funeral home.
