Mrs. Frances Morris
Mrs. Frances Marie Ruth Morris, age 79, resident of Gillham, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

Frances was born the first of three children to Lee Franklin and Virginia Rachel Staggs Ruth on December 26, 1944, in De Queen. After attending school, Frances married the love of her life, Milton Morris, on June 30, 1960, in Texarkana, Arkansas, and to this union, seven children were born. Frances was a Homemaker, spending the majority of her time keeping their home and raising her children. Later, Frances drove a school bus, driving sixteen years for the Gillham School District and one year for the De Queen School District before her retirement. She and Milton are members of the Gillham First Baptist Church, and former members of the Gillham Fire Department, having given many years of service. Frances was a faithful patron of and enjoyed being involved with the Gillham Library. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, book collecting, and gardening. Frances best spent her time with Milton, their children, and her loving grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Doyle Morris.

Frances leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of over sixty-three years, Milton Morris of Gillham; six children and their spouses, Stanley Scott Morris of Gillham and wife Rosiemy of Dumaguete, Philippines, Terry Gene Morris and wife LaVersa of Grannis, Michael Kent Morris and Nita Irvan of Kellum, Michelle Lannette Bohannon and husband Larry of Gillham, Bane Morris and wife Denise of Smithville, Oklahoma, and Amber Le An Marie Morris of Gillham; six grandchildren, Terry Andrew Morris, Michael Cage Morris, Brandon Grant Morris, Jerrod Lee Morris, Megan (Clayton Davis) James, and Brent James; one great-grandchild, Hank Davis; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnie Lee and Debbie Ruth of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Danny Ray and Sheila Ruth of Lockesburg; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Morris will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Gillham First Baptist Church with Bro. Cole Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow at Overturf Cemetery in Gillham. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
