Obituary

Mrs. Floy Allen Smith, age 89, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was one of six children born to Walter Lee and Tompie Vera Willmon Allen.  Floy was born on January 5, 1935, in De Queen, Arkansas.  After graduating from High School, she worked as a bookkeeper and manager in many companies over the years.  She was a member of the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking, and card games, but most of all, she loved traveling all over the United States with her husband, H.L., and grandchildren in their RV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, H. L. Smith; her siblings, Joyce Smith, Marlin Allen, and Walter Allen, Jr.; her grandson, Joseph Patman Fox, and two nieces, Angela Needham Hartsfield, and Deborah Allen Love.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Monika Fox of De Queen; Her grandchildren, Randy Fox of De Queen, Tonya Fox of Texarkana, Texas, and Kelsey Fox of Pennsylvania; her great-grandchildren; Tanner Freeman of Texarkana, Arkansas, Taylor Monday of Searcy, Arkansas, Paige Vincent, and Aydan Marbut both of Texarkana, Texas; two great-great-granddaughters, three great-great-grandsons, two sisters; Carolyn Cowling of Springdale, Arkansas, and Marolyn, and her husband, Wendell Needham also of Springdale, Arkansas, a sister-in-law; Barbara Allen of Frisco, Texas, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
