Mrs. Faye Janes
Mrs. Linda Faye Gibbons Janes, age 71, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. Janes was born the youngest of three daughters to the union of Ednel Horace and Cleora Irene Bailey Gibbons on November 14, 1950, in Vandervoort, Arkansas. She was a 1968 graduate of Dierks High School. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and received several accolades when completing her education. She married the love of her life, Hershel Lee Janes, on June 2, 1972, in Greens Chapel, Arkansas, and to this marriage, two children were born. Faye and Hershel attend the Old Time Gospel Church in Lockesburg, and she was a member of the Extension Homemakers of Sevier County. Faye best spent her time with her family and friends, but often took the time to lovingly pester Hershel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandson, Dalton Levi Janes.
Faye leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of over 49 years, Hershel Janes of De Queen; her son and daughter-in-law, Mickell and Colleen Janes of De Queen; her daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Sam Dixon of Lockesburg; eight grandchildren, Zack Rivers of De Queen, Seth Rivers of De Queen, Andrew Janes of Broken Arrow, Bailey Denton of Hackett, Ashtyn Hanney of De Queen, Kobie Janes of De Queen, Hadlie Dixon of Lockesburg, and Reiny Dixon of Lockesburg; one great-grandchild, Ezra Levi Janes of Broken Arrow; two sisters, Virginia Smith and husband Charlie of Hughes, and Lucille Gadberry and husband Emmett of Marion; as well as other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Faye Janes will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 13, 2022, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerrel Helms and Bro. Steven Chenoweth officiating. Burial will follow at Greens Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
