Mrs. Eugenia Walker

Mrs. Eugenia Lee Walker went to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of January 4, 2020, in De Queen. Mrs. Walker was born to Altie and Gertis Walker in Tupelo, Mississippi on June 24, 1934.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her infant sister Vicki Walker, and one grandson Christopher Joe Cowan.

She is survived by her brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Janice Walker; her sister Daris Witt; sister and brother in law, Betty and Paul Stroud, and a brother in law LC "Uncle T" Martin. Three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Pam Gentry, Eddie and Tamela Gentry, and Bruce and Donna Cranfill. She also had two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Rick Cowan and Marta and Andy Ridge. She had 11 grandchildren, Ray Gentry, Temple Gentry, Rhayne Cassatt and husband David, LaRhett Tribble and husband Trey, Jamie Cowan and wife Mary, Aaron Whisenhunt, Reagan Ridge, Zoe' Ridge, Derrick Dees and wife Angela, Darrin Dees and wife Kera, Whitney Kelly and husband Sean; 20 great grandchildren; a special friend, Virginia Wade Anderson; as well as, a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Walker was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church Foreman, AR, who enjoyed spending time with her family and church families. She was also an avid antiquer which she enjoyed doing with many special friends. She loved socializing and really kept up with the town business before entering Bear Creek Nursing Home. Mamaw, as she was so well known, was known for the way she kept her home, so eloquent and inviting, even after losing a lot of mobility. From her frequent walks to Perry Young's grocery and her calls to the local Dollar General in Foreman to find out where the sirens were, she always was a step ahead at keeping up. She loved gospel music and loved to hear her loved ones sing. Some of her favorite songs were "Ain't No Grave" and "Who Put the Tears," as well as, many others we sing every day.

Losing a loved one to death is hard but losing them twice, to Alzheimer's and then death is excruciating. Mother, Mamaw or Mrs. Jeanie may not be in this world any longer, but she's regained her mind, her strength and she's with all of those gone before.

Final services for Mrs. Walker will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Little River Community Church at Billingsley's Corner with Bro. Richard Wade and Bro. Jamie Cowan officiating. Burial will follow at Pauley Cemetery in the Jewell Community, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
