Mrs. Emalene Kelly Huckaby, age 85, a resident of De Queen, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab.

She was born to J. O. and Agatha Mae Hendershot Kelly in Bluffton, Arkansas on July 2, 1939.  She graduated from Dierks High School, and married the love of her life, James Richard Huckaby on April 22, 1959.  She followed J. R. as he served in the with the military over 20 years.  After J. R's retirement, she acted as bookkeeper for J. R's Pest Control, as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles but most of all, she loved the time spent with her family,

Emalene was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of almost 66 years, J. R. Huckaby of De Queen.two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Huckaby and Ron and Kim Huckaby all of De Queen; two sisters and a brother-in-brother-in-law, Gwen Countryman of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Freda and Wayne Rowe of Batesville, Arkansas, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
