Obituary

Mr. Elbie Kirkman Cannon, Sr., age 76, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at his home.

He was born to Johnnie Kirkman and Thelma Ruth Moore Cannon in Cooper, Texas, on February 8, 1942.  He was retired, and enjoyed all outdoor activities, including fishing, and hunting.  He loved the lake and camping, and was an animal lover, especially dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Chester Cannon and J. L. Cannon, three sisters, Evelyn Voyles, Ethel George, and Marie Kirby.

He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tammy Arneson of Stephenville, Texas, Debbie and Paul Harris of Greenville, Mississippi, and Laura and Bob Lange of Katy, Texas, two sons and daughters-in-law, Elbie Kirkman, Jr. and Alicia Cannon of Covington, Louisiana, and Anthony and Teresa Cannon of Hot Springs, Arkansas, five brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray and Ann Cannon of Wickes, Arkansas, Don Cannon of Alvarado, Texas, Cecil Cannon of Texas,  Kenneth Cannon of Midlothian, Texas, and Bruce Cannon of Atoka, Oklahoma, six grandchildren, Zachary Harris of Greenville, Mississippi, Cera Lange, Kelsey Lange both of Katy, Texas, Kelly Cannon and Austin Cannon and Dalton Dowell all of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral Services for Mr. Elbie Cannon, Sr. will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Russell McNeeley officiating.  Burial will follow in Daniel Cemetery, Wickes, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Friday, March 2 nd from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Chandler Funeral Home.  You  may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com .  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital at www.shrinershospitals.org or St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org .
