DE QUEEN
Mr. Efren Lerma Moreno, age 65, a resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana, Texas.
He was born to Efren Lerma Chaparro and Luz Moreno Ochoa on August 18, 1959, in Guadalupe y Calvo Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church, and a retired employee of Pilgrim's in De Queen. He loved music, playing the guitar, and the accordion as well as other musical instruments. He was a soccer fan, especially Las Aguilas del America. But his best time spent was with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Efren was preceded by his parents, and three siblings, Arturo Lerma Moreno, Maximina Lerma Moreno, and Miguel Angel Lerma Moreno.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 45 years, Hilda Lerma Chaparro of De Queen; one son, Mauro Rogelio Lerma of De Queen; three daughters, Kialen Lerma of De Queen, Diana Lerma and her husband Antonio Rueles of Texarkana, Texas, and Luz Elizabeth Lerma and her husband Mario Chaparro of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Alexander, Alan, Myrka, Mauro, Brianna, and Jaime; ten siblings, Ofelia Lerma Moreno, and Rosalva Lerma Moreno both of Mexico, Ruben Lerma Moreno and Arnoldo Lerma Moreno both of De Queen, Jose Edilberto, Olivia Lerma Moreno, Adelaida Lerma Moreno, Oscar Lerma Moreno, Maximo Lerma Moreno, and Adriana Lerma Moreno all of Mexico, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, at 12:00 P.M., at the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastoral Center at the St Barbara Catholic Church with Father Ramses Mendieta officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery, De Queen, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M., with The Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastoral Center.
