Mr. Pete Stiles

Mr. Edwin Loyd "Pete" Stiles, age 82, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at his home.

He was oldest of two sons born to Edward Andrew and Katie Marie Cantlon Stiles on February 1, 1937 in De Queen. He was a 1955 graduate of De Queen High School. He married the love of his life, Rebecca Jean Higgins, on October 19, 1962 in Gillham by Bro. Holman. He began his career as a Depot Agent and Manager with KCS and D&E Railroad Companies in De Queen. Later, he was employed by Weyerhaeuser Company and spent over thirty years serving at various levels including managing the Mississippi and Skuna Railroad Company in Mississippi. He was a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen and enjoyed yardwork, mowing, riding four wheelers, fishing, hunting and Razorback Football, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of over 53 years, Becky Stiles and an infant son, Gregory Alan Stiles.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, one daughter, Missy Hughes and her husband Steven of Germantown, Tennessee; one grandson, Jake Hughes of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother, Bill Stiles and his wife Irene of Broken Bow; one brother-in-law, Don Higgins and his wife Cheryl of De Queen; six nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews; special friends, Floy Smith and Willie Boyles, both of De Queen; as well as, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Pete Stiles will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 20, 2019 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
