Mr. Eddie Lee Johnson, Jr., age 83, a resident of De Queen, passed from this life, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born to Eddie Lee Johnson, Sr. and Nora Lee Coulter Johnson on October 8, 1941, in Horatio, Arkansas. He married Mary Francis Bennett on July 13, 1963, in De Queen, Arkansas, and to this marriage, four children were born. He was an employee of Weyerhaeuser Company, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Mt. Pheobe Baptist Church, Horatio, Arkansas, and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, was a Dallas Cowboys fan, playing dominoes, watching westerns, fixing stuff, and spending time with his family.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Imogene Hunter, a brother, Charles Johnson, two nephews, Lonnie Johnson, and Sylvester Hunter.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife and love of his life for 62 years, Mary Francis Johnson of De Queen; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Lee, III and LaShonda Johnson of De Queen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Nora and Roy Burton of Springdale, Arkansas, and Cassandra Scott of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Allyson Cheathem, Xavier Burton Zachery Burton, Keatrea Pickings, Shavonna Butler, and Franchezca Monique Butler; four great-grandchildren, Maverick Cheathem, Heavenly Pickings, Prynce Pickings, and Drew Janes; nephews, Phillip Hunter, John Hunter, Timothy Hunter, Charles Johnson, Jr., Jimmy Johnson, Kevin Johnson, and J.J. Johnson; very dear to the family, Steve Scott of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral Services for Mr. Eddie Johnson will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ with Roy C. Burton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery, De Queen, Arkansas. Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2025, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
