Mrs. Dixie Hill
Mrs. Dixie Ray Waldon Hill, age 88, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her home.

Dixie was born October 30, 1933, to B.J. and Savanna Spratt Waldon in De Queen, one of four children. Dixie was united in marriage to R.C. Hill, and to this union, twelve children were born. Dixie worked twenty-seven faithful years for Mountaire Poultry in De Queen. After her retirement from Mountaire, Dixie took the role of homemaker and loving grandmother. She would spend the next almost thirty years caring for and loving her host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. When she was not with her family, Dixie enjoyed going to the casino with her sister, fishing, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, B.J. and Savanna Waldon; her loving husband, R.C. Hill; her son, Richard Lee Hill and three infant children; two grandchildren, Mark King and Claudette Cubit Alvarez; and her siblings, Kathern Jordan, Viola Waldon, and Gilbert "Buster" Waldon.

Dixie leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Bobby Hill, Steve Hill, and Clifford Hill, all of De Queen; five daughters, Charlotte Cubit, Ann Young, Hazel and Leroy Swift, Sequtia Hill, and her youngest daughter and special caregiver, Teresa Hill, all of De Queen; twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and forty-three great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dixie Hill will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 2022, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with First Lady Sherrie Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
