Mr. David Scott Payne, age 70, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in the Sevier County Medical Center.

He was born February 2, 1955, in Greenville, Texas.  He retired from Envirotech in Fort Worth.  He was a member of Shepherd's Word Church in Mena, the Dallas Masonic Lodge in Mena, the Mt. Meadow Masonic Lodge in Hatfield, and the Wickes Masonic Lodge.  After his retirement, David made custom knives.  He enjoyed welding, hunting, and, most of all, his family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sheri Patrice Thomason.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Janie Ann Spencer Payne of the home, four children and their spouses, Susan and Jeff Samson of Hurst, Texas, Stephanie and Brandon Howard of Irving, Texas, Jeromy and Amanda Lackey of Haslet, Texas, Scott and Elizabeth Payne of Bowie, Texas; eight grandchildren, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Joshua, Paisley, Fox, Lucas, William, and Wyatt; a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Dean Robertson of Denton, Texas.

Graveside memorial services with Masonic Rites for Mr. David Payne will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. in the Duckett Cemetery, Wickes, Arkansas with Bro.
