Mr. David Boyd
Mr. David Boyd was born on October 15, 1947, on the banks of Red River outside of Foreman, Arkansas to Marvin and Lillie Faye Boyd. David lived and spent most of his life in Little River County and firmly believed there was no better place to call home. He often said that if you take a drink from Little River, you'll always find your way back home.

In 1969, David welcomed his only child, Cathy (Boyd) Sanders, into the world. In 1978, he met and married the love of his life, Lynnette (Frady) Boyd. Together, they built a beautiful home and life in Winthrop, Arkansas.

David made a living as a logging contractor and farmer, and he loved both jobs. He enjoyed time outside in the woods, both for work and for sport. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gun collector; he also acquired quite the collection of boats over the years. Many remember David from the large crops of watermelons and purple hull peas planted on his family's property each summer. He spent countless hours tilling, planting, and harvesting and made sure that it was always a family affair. He believed a family that picks peas together stays together. He instilled work ethic and integrity into his child, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and anyone else who had the chance to work alongside him, teaching them to "put their back into it".

David had a heart of gold and was always looking to help someone in need. He was a Godly man, full of integrity, wit, and intuition. His friends were always welcomed into his life and home as if they were family. He was a member of the Winthrop Baptist Church and several hunting clubs. To know him, was to love him, and to also be jealous of the thick head of hair that never thinned or grayed with age. He was a mentor to many throughout the years, and the best "Dayday" to his grandchildren and countless others who will miss him dearly.

David was preceded in death by his mother, father, and several beloved pups.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Lynnette; brother and sister in law, Bill and Donna Boyd; daughter and son in law, Cathy and Kevin Sanders; grandson, Jacob Sanders and Kathleen; granddaughter, Samantha and her husband Trent Phillips; niece, Amy and her husband Timmy Mills, and their sons Brodey and Jed; his favorite Aunt Jean who was like his second mother; a host of cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, and many friends who are family by choice rather than blood.

Funeral Services for Mr. David Boyd will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Winthrop Baptist Church with Bro. Audie Dawson and Tony Tallant officiating. Interment will follow at Pauley Cemetery in Winthrop. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
