Westline
Mr. Clyde Chandler
Mr. Clyde Allen Chandler, age 86, resident of the Westline Community of Sevier County, passed from this life on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home.
He was born to Clarence and Mary Allen Chandler on March 22, 1933 in the Central Community of Sevier County. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Dean Waters, on March 3, 1953 in De Queen, and to this marriage, eleven children were born. Clyde was a man of many talents and was not a stranger to work. He began his work life in the log woods. He operated a sawmill, cut timber and was one of the first in our area to have purchased a two-man motorized chainsaw. He owned and operated Chandler Litter Service, serving the poultry farmers of our community. Later in life, he built poultry houses and worked alongside his family on the farm. He served many years on the Sevier County Co-op Board of Directors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, giving out produce and storytelling, but most of all, he cherished the time he was able to spend with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Dorothy Waters Chandler in 2005 and Shirley McNully Chandler in 2007; and three siblings, Doroles Marie Yandell, Betty Lynn Chandler and Charles Kimball Chandler.
He leaves to cherish his memory, six sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Haidee Chandler of Lockesburg, Ricky Faron Chandler and his companion Gayla of Eagletown, Lawrence Gene and Leslie Chandler of De Queen, Loy Don and Devona Chandler of Melber, Kentucky, Billy Scott and Michelle Chandler of Murphy, North Carolina and Jeffry Alan and Jayna Chandler of Pickens, Oklahoma; five daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy Loraine and Wayne Sloat of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Larenda Sue and Bill Montgomery of Lockesburg, Lori Jan and Joey Vaught of Horatio, Mary Joan and Richard Ruth of De Queen and Sarah Jeneane and Willie Yandell of De Queen; thirty-six grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Ivanelle Chandler of Idabel, Oklahoma and Randy and Gwen Chandler of New Boston, Texas; two sisters, Laura Nelson of Cunningham, Kentucky and Glenda and Dennis Ward of Tom, Oklahoma; a special friend, Jim Waltson of Oregon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
