Mrs. Chloe Young
Mrs. Chloe Marie Hamby Young, age 89, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her home.

Chloe was born January 22, 1934, to Robert Otho and Ester Jane Clayton Hamby in Caddo Gap, Arkansas. She was a 1952 graduate of Horatio High School, and in May of 1952, married the love of her life, Howard Lee Young. To this union, two daughters were born. Chloe and Howard made their living and raised their family on their farm in De Queen. In 1965, they were chosen as Sevier County Farm Family of the Year. Later in life Chloe enjoyed her time greeting the community at Walmart in De Queen, retiring after more than ten years of service. Chloe was faithful in keeping their home and was a member of Union Community Church, Union Quilting Club, and the Union Extension Homemaker's Club. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She enjoyed canning, cooking and trying new recipes, and quilting. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ester Hamby; her loving husband of over thirty years, Howard Young; three brothers, Erwin Hamby, Darwin Hamby, and Melvin "Bob" Hamby; and two sisters, Erma Rollins and Faye Bingham.

Chloe leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Bobby Bailey of De Queen, and Mona and Wayne Bledsoe of Memphis; she was "MoMo" to her four grandchildren and their spouses, Sarabeth and John Martin of Kalispel, Montana, Will and Sydney Bailey of De Queen, Stephen and Hayley Bledsoe of Memphis, and Rachel and Hong Lim of Memphis. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lorene Hamby of De Queen, and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Graveside services for Mrs. Chloe Young will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Chapel Hill Cemetery in De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen is entrusted with arrangements.
