Mr. Charles Liggin
Mr. Charles Edward Liggin, age 86, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born on September 11, 1932, to the late George Edward and Gennetta Harris Liggin in De Queen, Arkansas. He worked on the railroad for D&E during the 1950s and 60s and later worked in the timber industry. He was a member of the Prairie Branch Hunting Club and was a Baptist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 20 years, Margorie McWhorter Liggin and one son, Randall Liggin, both passing in the 1980s; one great-grandchild, Latasha Leathers; three great-grandchildren, Alana, DJ and Kayle Leathers; four brothers, Frank, Glen, Fletcher and Walter Liggin; and four sisters, Callie Ross, Lillie McWhorter, Annie McNeice and Velma Liggin.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie Liggin and wife Becky and Tony Eugene Liggin and wife Kay, all of Lockesburg; ten grandchildren, Nicole Smith and husband Aaron, Toyna Cribb, Shane Martz and wife Kimberly, Crystal Martz, Heather Thatcher and husband Colt, Chris Liggin and wife Sissy, Brandon Liggin and wife Cassandra, Darrell Potter, Tonya Conatser and Frankie Stamps and husband Billie; nineteen great-grandchildren, Mark, Noah, Bella, Mallorie, Landry, Lynli, Laney, Bentley, Lindsay, BJ, David and wife Tara, Jacob, Ely, Hunter, Zachary, Trey, Connor, Drake and Cash; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Charles Liggin will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Old Union Cemetery with Bro. Wesley Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16 th , at the funeral home.
