Mrs. Norma Carol Honea

Mrs. Carol Honea, age 82, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Pinecrest Retirement Lodge in Ashdown, Arkansas.

She was born to Lowell Hicks and Norma Minnie Ricketts Tarpley on April 25, 1943, in Gillham, Arkansas.  She married Harold Dean Honea on July 3, 1965, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and to this marriage, three daughters and a son were born.

Carol Honea was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose gentle spirit and giving heart touched all who knew her.  She entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion.

Carol's greatest joy in life was her family.  She poured her love into every meal she baked and every flower she tended, always finding ways to brighten the lives of others.  Her kitchen was a place of comfort and warmth, where her baked goods, especially cookies, weren't just recipes – they were expressions of love.  Carol also had a gift for gardening; her beautiful flowers reflected the care and patience she extended to everyone in her life.  Her church family held a special place in her heart.  Carol lived her faith daily through service, fellowship, and compassion, always offering a listening ear, a home-cooked treat, or a heartfelt prayer.  She exemplified grace and kindness, touching the lives of friends and neighbors alike.

After retiring from Weyerhaeuser Company, where she worked for forty years, she continued to stay active in her community by working at Cossatot Reefs, Bellah Mine Park, First State Bank, and Diamond Bank.

Carol's love, laughter, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.  Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace, her life a testimony to life well lived.  She leaves behind cherished family, dear friends, and countless memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Randy Honea, and two sisters, Bonnie Taylor and Joyce Hargis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Kurt Naumann of Bryant, Arkansas; Renee and Keith Norwood of Benton, Arkansas; and Becky and Robbie Rogers of De Queen; 8 grand-children, Lana Naumann, Laura Naumann, Davis Norwood and girlfriend Elizabeth Carter, Natalie and Joey Norwood-Vaughn, Josh Norwood and fiancé Melody Taylor, Mason Honea, Colton and Christa Rogers, and Luke Rogers and his girlfriend Mia Mendiola; two great-grandchildren, Beckett and Braxxon Rogers; a daughter-in-law, Melanie Honea of Nashville, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Theral Hargis of Longview, Texas and Bro. Jerry Taylor of Hatton, Arkansas, along with a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carol Honea will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Kern Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Fischer and Bro. Jerry Taylor officiating.  Private family burial will follow in Mineral Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
