Mrs. Carol Brooks
Mrs. Iris Carol Bennett Brooks, age 79, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at her home.
Carol was born to Charles and Catherine Mae Scott Bennett on October 25, 1943, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Following high school graduation, Carol went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Arkansas Tech University, and later obtained a Bachelor of Administration degree in Psychology from Minot State University. She married the love of of her life, Father George Dennis Brooks, on September 4, 1965, in Fort Smith, and to this union, one daughter was born. Carol worked in Medical Technology and as a Homemaker. She was a faithful member of All Saints of American Orthodox Church, and enjoyed gardening, singing, horseback riding, and serving as choir director. She best spent her time with Father George, her family, and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of over fifty-seven years, Father George Brooks of De Queen; their daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Gary Wood of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren, Tatiana (David) Dillon of Cabot, George Weeks of Deerfield, Florida, and Callinica (Ivan) Lozano of Midland, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Gracie Dillon, Isabella Weeks, and Ivaleah Lozano; as well as other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Carol Brooks will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at All Saints of America Orthodox Church with Arch Bishop Peter and Father Nicolas Olsen officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints of America Orthodox Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen. You may leave a condolence online at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
