Obituary

Mr. Bobby Harrison
Mr. Bobby Dean Harrison, 70, of Horatio, departed this earth on November 23, 2023, at his daughter's home in Benton, Arkansas from complications following his yearlong battle with cardiac issues.

Bobby was born on September 4, 1953, in De Queen, Arkansas, to Elvin Cleone (Senior) and Pauline Wilson Harrison, and was the third of their four children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Wimpee Harrison, his parents, his brother, Elvin Cleone Harrison, Jr., and sister, Judie Faye Harrison.

Bobby was a 1971 graduate of De Queen High School and a member of Kern Heights Baptist Church. He married Barbara Wimpee in the fall of 1979 and became father to their only daughter, Bethany Michelle, in 1981. He retired from the De Queen & Eastern, Texas, Oklahoma, & Eastern Railroad after 43 years, retired as a self-taught cake decorator, and full-time "Popow '' to his three grandchildren.

Bobby was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, "Popow," cousin, and friend to many. He absolutely adored his family. He most loved, and was very proud of, his daughter and his beloved grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, beautiful singing voice and piano playing that was just as beautiful, his delicious and gorgeous cakes that he made for family and friends, and for his overwhelming love for those he held dear.

He loved singing and playing his piano, trains, cross-stitch, baking, and decorating cakes for those closest to him, watching baking competitions and "Angry Beavers," talking with his sister and friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Bethany Harrison Baracosa and husband, Kevin of Benton, his sister, Jackie Harrison Alves and husband, Dave of De Queen, and other special family members and friends. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, who were the center of his universe and who he called his precious "Ds": Duncan Sean Connor, Dovie Belle Connor, and Drew Joshua Baracosa.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen. You may leave a condolence online at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
