Mrs. Bobbie Ruth

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Gentry Ruth, age 80, resident of De Queen, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 06, 2020, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Ruth was born to John and Maggie Reed Gentry on March 25, 1939, in De Queen. She married the love of her life, James Alfred Ruth, on June 16, 1955 in De Queen, and to the union, four children were born. She was a member of Rose Hill Gospel Mission and a Homemaker. She and her family owned and operated a poultry farm outside of De Queen. She enjoyed going to church and raising chickens, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-granddaughters, Josie Ann and Jorie Lynn Burt; two brothers, Ern and Pete Gentry; and two sisters, Inez Shaw and Juanita Gentry.

She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, James Ruth of De Queen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Billy Don Weeks, Sr. of De Queen, Barbara and Gene Liles of Hatfield and Evelyn and Russell Yandell of De Queen; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joan Ruth of De Queen; 16 grandchildren, Billy Don, Jr., Wynona, Jonathan, Wynita, Lajeana, Danillia, Brandon, Aaron, Amanda, James "J Bo", Sherra, Sandra, Shavonna, Travis and Carrie; 34 great-grandchildren; as well as, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bobbie Ruth will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Billy Don Weeks, Sr., Billy Don Weeks, Jr., and Brandon Burt officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
