Mrs. Billie Rogers Candler, age 83, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died April 17, 2017 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana.
She was born on November 3, 1933 in Ben Lomond, Arkansas. She worked as a paralegal for a law firm in San Francisco. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in San Francisco,
California. She enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, and visiting with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie C. Nelson, her siblings, Gene Autry Nelson, Harvey Lee Nelson, and Lewis Elvin Nelson, and 2012, her husband, Lawrence Candler.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Albert Johnson of San Francisco, a sister, Norma Lewis of Lockesburg, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Dell and Vera Nelson of Ashdown, AR, Charles and Patricia Nelson of Charleston, South Carolina, and Cleveland and Gwen Nelson of Dallas, Texas, a sister-in-law, Jo Helen Nelson of Dallas, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members and a host of friends.
