Obituary

Mr. Billie Brown
Mr. Billie Dean "Bill" Brown, age 89, resident of Cerro Gordo, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Brown was born to John Henley and Lela Mae Albritton Brown on April 5, 1931 in Cerro Gordo. He was a 1949 graduate of Foreman High School and proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. Billie joined the United States Air Force in 1951, serving four years of active duty, with an overseas deployment. After receiving an honorable discharge, he continued on to serve 10 years, nine months and three days in active reserves with the Air National Guard, receiving his final honorable discharge on October 22, 1966. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Crossroads. Billie was a "Jack of All Trades" and mastered them all. He worked as a mechanic and enjoyed his time spent working on cars, doing carpentry work, attending gospel singings, and making tin men and spending time with his family. Billie loved life and never met a stranger. To know him was to love him. He will be remembered by his amazing wit, his love for his family, his clever euphemisms when ask how he was doing, and his world class peanut brittle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Owatha Ann Brown; one brother, Junior Brown; and one sister, Wanda Vaughn.
