Mrs. Bettye Nipper
Mrs. Bettye Jo Barnhill Nipper, age 75, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

She was born to the union of Joe Newsome Barnhill, Sr., and Flora Elina Turnbough Barnhill, on January 19, 1946, in De Queen. She was a graduate of Cove High School and went on to Beauty School. She married the love of her life, Hoyt Wayne Nipper, on February 11, 1965, in Poteau, Oklahoma, and to this marriage, three children were born. Bettye began her career with Pilgrim's Pride in 1985, starting at the Hatchery in De Queen. She retired in 2008 after twenty-three years of service. She enjoyed cooking, wordsearches, plants, flowers, and her beloved dog – Sally. More than anything, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 34 years, Hoyt Wayne Nipper; a grandson, Dalton Janes; her brother, Joe Barnhill, Jr.; her sister, Catherine Shipp; a special friend, Helen Downing; and a number of other loved ones.

Bettye, or "Granny" as she was known to her loving family and friends, leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter and son-in-law, Shanin and Paul Hollis of Lockesburg; two sons and daughter-in-law, Lannon and Lynn Nipper of Watson, Oklahoma, and Wayne Nipper of Lockesburg; five grandchildren, Cole Lee Hunter and David Russell of De Queen, Bubba Pollard and Amber Rapp of Lockesburg, Chellsey Walton of Horatio, Landon James of Watson, and Hoyt Nipper of Watson; twelve great-grandchildren, Kobie Janes, Casen Hunter, Kaden Hunter, Bonner Russell, Bolton Russell, Jakeb Pollard, Ashlee Pollard, Josh Pollard, Jonn Thomas Pollard, Brinn Twaddle, Riley Walton, and Cayden James; three sisters-in-law, Nelda Glover of Lockesburg, Belva Nipper of Lockesburg, and Corene Page of Shawnee, Oklahoma; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bettye Nipper will be privately held, with interment at Baker Cemetery in Wickes. Family and friends are welcome to the home of Shanin Hollis, 1077 Provo Road, Lockesburg, Arkansas.
