Mrs. Betty Walker
Mrs. Betty Louise Roberts Walker, age 80, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, October 10, 2022, at her home.

Betty was born on May 28, 1942, in Hatfield, Arkansas, to Andy Aaron and Dorothy Louise Whisenhunt Roberts. She was a 1960 graduate of the Hatfield High School and went on to obtain her Master's Degree in Counseling and Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She married the love of her life, Bobby Gerald Walker, on August 17, 1962, in Mena, Arkansas, and to this union, one son was born. Betty began her career in education as a third and fourth grade teacher with the Cove School District, later retiring from the Mena School District after serving more than twenty years as Counselor. Betty and Gerald were faithful members of the De Queen Church of Christ, and she enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals, camping, and spending time with her grandson, Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over 59 years, Gerald Walker; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Harold Richmond.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law, Randy Walker, M.D. and Angie Walker of De Queen; her beloved grandson, Jackson "Precious" Walker of De Queen, to whom she was affectionately known as "Granny"; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Don Frost of Mena, and Jane and Ronnie Phillips of Huntsville; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Betty Walker will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Six Mile Cemetery in Hatfield, Arkansas, with Minister Bobby Tatum officiating.
