Ms. Betty Brewer
Ms. Betty Jean Brewer, age 66, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in the CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.
Betty was born one of eight children to the union of Honval Riley Brewer, Sr. and Yvonne Carpenter Brewer on September 7, 1957, in De Queen, Arkansas. Betty was a 1975 graduate of De Queen High School and went on to obtain an associate degree from Cossatot Community College. Betty worked in a number of different capacities over the years including time at Big T, or Big Bob's as it was later known, Dollar General, Amberwood, and most recently as a caretaker with the Sevier County Developmental Center in De Queen. Betty was of the Christian faith and enjoyed fishing, going to yard and garage sales, sewing, and crocheting. Betty best spent her time with Polo, her loving family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Johnny Lee Brewer and Bill Joe Brewer and wife Verda; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane Rovell and husband Patrick Edward Rovell, Jr.; and one nephew, David Brewer.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her life partner of over thirty years, Polo Rodriguez of De Queen; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Eddy Brewer of Fort Worth, Texas, and Honval Brewer, Jr. and wife Sue of Mineral Springs; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patty Brewer and her significant other, Steve Watson of De Queen, and Penny Ward and husband Jerry of Mount Pleasant, Texas; nieces, nephews and their spouses, Kevin Brewer, Mike (Terri) Brewer, Pamela (Jonathan) Couch, Patrick Edward Rovell, III, Angela Hawkins, Timothy Rovell, Melissa (Jeremy) Johnston, Jason (Casey) Brewer, Amy (Wade) Powell, Lori (Jon) Capps, Dakota Finney, Mandi (Luke Hardy) Sauls, Ashley Tucker, Sunny (Zachery) Arnold, and Deana (Eric) Sampson; as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The family of Ms. Betty Brewer will receive friends at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 10, 2024, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 A.M., at Valley Cemetery in Gillham, Arkansas. Nati Becerra to officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
