Betty Barbara Lazenby Russell was born to Wayland and Louise Bordon Lazenby on February 6, 1942, in Cerro Gordo Arkansas. She passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, from kidney failure surrounded by family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carroll Russell.

She is survived by two sisters, Sharon Gatlin of Ashdown, Arkansas and Kay Thorton of Foreman, Arkansas; three children and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Peggy Cleghorn of Cerro Gordo, Arkansas, Deedy Tody of Cerro Gordo, Arkansas and Stacy Cleghorn of Cerro Gordo, Arkansas. She was the matriarch of the family with 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She has several nieces, nephews, friends and a host of brothers and sisters in Christ. She was a lifelong member of the Horatio Church of Christ and leaves behind a legacy of strong Christan values, good work ethics and love for family.

A memorial service will be held in Betty's honor at 2:30 P.M, Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Horatio Church of Christ, with Bobby Tatum, officiating. The family will gather in the church annex at 12:30 P.M. prior to the service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
