Mrs. Barbara Jean Fitzerald Kight, age 79, a resident of Lockesburg, passed away from this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at her home.
She was the youngest of three children born to Wesley David and Elsie Catherine Welch Fitzgerald. Barbara was born on February 9, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas. She married the love of her life, Horace Lane Kight in Fresno, California, on November 7, 1960, and to this marriage, three sons were born. She retired from Husqvarna in 2007, after 30 years of service as a direct shift supervisor, and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed following her grandchildren in sports and academics, but her best spent time was in the company of her husband, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David Fitzgerald and Dale Fitzgerald.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of more than 63 years, Horace; their sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Rema Kight of Lockesburg, Jerrel and Tena Kight of Lockesburg, and Troy and Suzanne Kight of Nathan, Arkansas; her seven grandchildren, Micah Kight and his wife, Charlotte, Altin Kight, Amanda her husband, Kris Hundley, Justin Kight and his wife, Stephanie, Bobby Cox and his wife, Tiffani, Jake Kight and Shyanne; her great-grandchildren; Owen, Brodie, Parker, Raylee Kate, John Duggan, Noah, and Paityn, and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Kight will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in Old Union Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas with Bro. Larry Fry officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen, Arkansas from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.
