Mrs. Barbara Bohannon
Mrs. Barbara Ann Pickett Bohannon, age 81, resident of Lockesburg, passed from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Dierks, Arkansas.
She was born to Willie L. and Connie Taylor Pickett on March 11, 1938 in Foreman, Arkansas. She was a 1956 graduate of Aldine High School in Houston, Texas. Following graduation, she married the love of her life, Harold Lloyd Bohannon, in May of 1956 in Houston, and to this union, two daughters were born. She spent many years keeping the home and later worked as a dog groomer, owning her own business until retirement. She was a member of the Old Corinth Church in Frog Level and enjoyed fishing. Barbara loved her family and spending time with them, but more than anything, she cherished and adored the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sibling; and a great-grandson, Cullen Varner.
She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Harold Bohannon of Lockesburg; two daughters, Carol Ann Boykin and Karen Midgett and her husband Keith, all of Lockesburg. She was Granny Bar to her four grandchildren, Trina, Tracey, Trista and Matt, and her six great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Cameron, Carson, Emma, Shelby and Valerie. She is also survived by two brothers, Jerry Pickett and wife Judy of Lockesburg and Edward Pickett and wife Cheryl of Chriesman, Texas; two sisters, Judy Thompson of South Carolina and Vicki Lawrence and husband Donnie of Conroe, Texas; as well as, special nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Bohannon will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Old Center Holiness Church with Chaplain Rufus Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Center Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
