Mr. Arlice Chandler
Mr. Arlice Odean Chandler, age 90, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at his home in Horatio.
Arlice was born one of ten children to the union of Levi and Mattie Lou Ramsey Chandler on November 28, 1931, in Wayne, Oklahoma. He worked many years as a Foreman for J. Cleo Thompson Oil Company. In August of 1967, Arlice married Jaqueline Lanell "Jackie" Killion, with whom he would share the next fifty-three loving years. Arlice and Jackie were members of New Life Church in De Queen, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Mattie Chandler; his loving wife, Jackie Chandler; one daughter, Beverly Chandler Ruzin; three brothers, Roy Lee Chandler, Coy Chandler, and Charles Chandler; and two sisters, Mittie Jean Chandler Hendricks, and Eula Chandler Elder.
Arlice is survived by one daughter and two sons-in-law, Barbara and George Kurachi of Austin, Texas, and Tom Ruzin of Lockesburg; seven grandchildren, Chris Ruzin and wife Langa of Austin, Texas, Kara Kurachi Deese and husband Bennett of High Point, North Carolina, Melissa Ruzin Moyer of Lockesburg, Keisha Kurachi Tillman and husband Michael of Leander, Texas, Stephanie Ruzin Purcell of Lockesburg, Kimberly Kurachi, and Kelli Kurachi, both of Austin, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Cooper of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Henrietta and Alvie Nix of Horatio, Janette Durham of Mesquite, Texas, and Patricia and Danny Lipsey of Horatio; special great-niece, Kandice Killion of Horatio; one great-great-niece, and two great-great-nephews; as well as other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Arlice Chandler will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 2, 2022, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Duane Alspaw officiating. Interment will follow at Old Center Cemetery in Horatio. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
