Anna Belle Lawrence Miller Coker, lovingly called "Dinky", age 88, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, having been surrounded by her family.

Ann was born in Nashville, Arkansas on March 3, 1936 to Roy D. and Avice T. Sloan Lawrence. She was a graduate of Nashville High School. After graduating High School in 1954, she married Bobby Miller and to this union, two children were born. After Bobby's death in 1965, Ann would later re-marry another love of her life, Roy H. Coker of De Queen on June 11, 1993. They were very happily married for 13 years.
Having a full life and outliving all of her immediate family, Ann was preceded in death by one son, Dwayne Miller, a nephew, Mike Morgan, a niece, Marilyn Owens, one sister, Myrtle Morgan, three brothers, Mack Lawrence, Sloan "Pug" Lawrence, and William Robert Lawrence.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicki McDonnell (Kenny) of De Queen, Daughter in law, Sandy Huntsberger of De Queen, two stepdaughters, Karen Tollett (John-Mark) of Nashville, andJamie Coker of North Africa; three granddaughters, Heather Barnes (Michael), Callie Efird (Brad) and Morgan Miller (Zac), all of De Queen, two step grandsons, Aaron Tollett (Lisa) and Tyler Tollett (Jordan) both of Nashville, Arkansas; 4 great grandchildren, Sloan Efird, Miller Battiest, Rhett and Charlotte Tollett, and Anna Beth Tollett; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins all very special to her.

While Ann said she loved all her children and grandchildren equally, she made it very clear that there was "just something" about her Great Grandchildren that made her love them more than anyone else. They were the light of her life and she enjoyed them more than anything and anyone else.

Ann spent many years serving her community at the Sevier County Courthouse for over thirty years. She spent 6 years working in both the Collectors and Assessors office, 12 years as Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk, and 12 years as the Circuit Clerkwhere she retired in 1996. The love of her job inspired all 5 of her grandchildren to follow in her footsteps and also live, work and serve in their communities as well.

Ann was an avid gardener and flower expert. The time she spent with her flowers and plants served her well as she was the only one in her neighborhood to win "Yard of the Month" on multiple occasions. Even at 88, you might catch her outside against her family's requests making sure her plants and ferns were watered. This included her  55-pound sago palm plant that all the men hated when it was time to move it elsewhere. You never knew what you were going to find over at Granny's house but one thing you could be sure of, there was going to be a "to-do" list for the next visitor. To-do list items included, fixing her computer, moving heavy decorations, changing her outdoor flags as well as hooking up water hose extensions so she could continue watering flowers after everyone was gone and she wouldn't be caught.  Unbeknownst to her, there were also a list of things checked by her grandchildren. This included but was not limited to closing her ever-opened cabinet doors, checking her Amazon cart to make sure the cashews were still off auto-ship, and locking her phone to using Facebook Messenger at 3:00 in the morning. Her attempts to be tech-savvy were appreciated but often misconstrued. For the record, the wedding picture of the couple from Washington State she shared a few months ago are not of any relation to us. Granny did not hate much of anything however, her competitive nature caused her to hate losing her quarters when playing "Left Right Center." Even when the quarters belonged to someone else.
While she may have struggled with technology, one thing she did not struggle with was her sense of style. I can say in all honesty, she looked better, classier, and more hip than all the females in a room put together. She loved shopping at Dillard's and always came home with jewelry to match each outfit, whether she already had some or not.

Ann was a 70-year member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Ann Coker will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2025, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
