Mr. Allen Ray Burges, age 76, a resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born to Melvin Didd and Harriett Colleen Smith Burges on August 4, 1949, in Yuma, Arizona.  He was a rancher and enjoyed playing and watching baseball, football, and basketball. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.  His passion was working on his farm, tending to his cattle, and especially being with his family.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, uncles, and grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Wilburn Morris of Temple, Texas, and Lora and Kurt Angerbauer of De Queen; two nieces, Amanda Ferguson of De Queen, Stacy and her husband Phil Schupp of Raleigh, North Carolina; three nephews and their spouses, Will & Mary Ferguson of Wickes, Arkansas, Monty Ferguson of De Queen, and Robert and Susie Patterson of Moore, Oklahoma; one aunt, Marie Scott of Sacramento, California; and a number of great nieces, nephew, cousins, and a host of friends.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Allen Burges will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Redmen Cemetery with Bobby Tatum, Minister officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
