Mr. Albert Jessie Setliff, affectionately known as AJ, age 94, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Sevier County Medical Center.

He was born to Luther Dale Setliff and Grace Rayburn Deaton on February 28, 1932, in Ashdown, Arkansas. He worked for the Sevier Co. Farmers Co-op retiring after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, making sorghum syrup, taking care of his cats, canning, cooking, making Christmas candy, his tractor, and most especially spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martha Pannell Setliff, one son, Dale Setliff, a sister, Libby Warren, three half-brothers, Bob Johnston, Tommy Joe Johnston, and Bo Deaton.

AJ leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Clift of Horatio, Arkansas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Sheila Setliff of Ashdown, Arkansas, Jessie Setliff of Springdale, Arkansas, Jerry and Jennifer Setliff of Springdale, Arkansas; two grandsons, Johnny Dale Setliff of Ashdown, Arkansas, Hunter Setliff of Springdale, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Kristy Richardson of Horatio, Arkansas, Lisa Clenney of Mt. Ida, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Tessa, Taylor, Tori, and Lexy; six great-great grandchildren, Daxton, Raylan, Hudsyn, Preston, Greyson, and Creed.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Albert Jessie “AJ” Setliff will be held, 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 29, 2026, at Clear Creek Cemetery in Horatio, with Bobby Tatum, Minister officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 P.M., in the funeral home chapel.
